neon is the new black

Neon gold beat company seems to somehow exist in an alternate universe where pop music is hailed as an art form and, needless to say, I'd love to live there. They initially put out the first Passion pit single and the rest is history I guess. Their current line-up is as over the top as it is accessible, here are some tracks linked via their (awesome) blog:

Here's the video for that last song. Intense.

And if you're up for it, here's an extra little treat for you. Have a fun fin de semana:

ménage à trés

seems everyone's got threesomes on the brain these days so here's a trio of songs for you this fine gloomy day. hopefully they reflect wild times, drunk dancing and rampant experimentation.

P.s. Don't go too crazy, kids. Like Agassi did...

today is now - cinco

Thomas demand is an incredible german artist that makes real-life replicas using only paper. the above picture is from his recent oval office recreation. sí, it's all paper. soak it in.

Obviously, everyone has politics on the brain. In honor of this, let me throw some sexual politics your way with an all female playlist (it is a mancession after all).

And, although I do love the ladies I still have no love for maría whorewood. So, don't vote for her in the runoff, kthanks.

fright fiesta

halloween mixes are always a challenge, unless you're me of course. my advice is that you just delete thriller and monster mash from your computer completely. the current trend seems to be creepy ambience so finding songs that fit the bill wasn't hard at all. it's not all scary though. this mix is influenced by candy highs, ultra-themed alcoholic bebidas and obscure costume references.

P.s. you should probably seriously rethink your where the wild things are costume.

a walk in el parque

Please enjoy this trip to the woods with Kasper bjørke. It reminds me of a recent 'trip' I had (pictured above). I'm liking this disco-electronic-psychedelic-nature vibe. Maybe these songs give off the same vibe. Maybe.
