video game arte

I bet you've never seen video game impressionism before. Well now you have. It's by the super talented yack-of-all-trades, Brock Davis. You can check out the rest of this series here.

Here's an extremely geeky (but awesome) print from A life well wasted illuminating the weak points of villains throughout the ages. If you get even half of these references then you are officially a dork. But, dorks are artists now, so have no worries.

do we still say mix tapes?

It's weird to think that kids these days may not know what a mix tape is. But they're not dead! Tapedeck.org has a pretty extensive record of various unique cassettes. A nice little time capsule if you ask me.

There's also two awesome (and free) mixes out there that you should get immediately. The first is from Chirp and features the likes of Air, Teengirl fantasy, Neon indian, Washed out, blah blah-- you get the picture. But it also has a song from one of my local favorites, Sealions.

The second mix is from the always awesome Kitsune noir and features a more playa-centric theme with The drums, Best coast, Beach house, etc. Anyways, they're free, their excellent... just get em.
