TODAY IS NOW - SEIS

Well, this weekly segment really went by the wayside. Sorry about that. But here's a brand new installment for veinte-10! The theme is fairly apparent on this one, so no need to explain. If you haven't gotten the free Gucci Mane mixtape from the Mad Decent blog, then get on that. In other newes, I've started a tumblr counterpart to this blog, which is right here. I highly recommend it.

T.I. - Hell of a life

Gucci Mane - Danger's not a stranger (Diplo remix)

jj - My way

Gucci Mane - Excuse me (Memory Tapes remix)

today is now - cuatro

So we meet again. I've giving you two mixes in one day!?! Que rico. I didn't have a theme in mind for this week, but it appears that all but one are remixes, so... Remix theme! This semana there's a not-so-nuevo track from Miike Snow (spotted on GG this week), Toro y Moi remixes his buddy, Washed Out (!), Memory Tapes does an awesome version of Grum's Heartbeats, and remixes of Health and Au revoir simone (previously posted). This may be the last acceptable time to post about this summer dream team seeing that fall is upon us...

Miike Snow - Silvia

Au revoir simone - Another likely story (Neon indian remix)

Washed Out - Feel it all around (Toro y moi remix)

Grum - Heartbeats (Memory tapes version)

HEALTH - Before tigers (CFCF remix)

today is now - tres

I know I skipped a week in my 'today is now' mix series, so you can get off my back, ok? I was off galavanting in the wilds of Virginia getting in touch with my orígenes. Where do you factor into all of this? Well, lucky for you I made an insanely large playlist to listen on the 7 hora drive, and these are some that stood out. You can thank my tape player for the last one.

James Yuill - This sweet love (Prins Thomas sneaky edit)

Yuksek - So far away form the sea

Metronomy - The 3rd

HEALTH - We are water

Billy Idol - Rebel Yell

today is now - dos

I hope you're ready for a flashback this week, cuz I sure am. Obviously, we're going to the '80s, and if you don't like the sound of that then I don't want to know you. This post is for those who truly appreciate the decade (and no covers, I promise). Everyone nowadías seems to be channeling the carefree-party-all-the-tiempo vibe, and I'm loving it. Love it too.

Memory tapes - Stop talking

Sally Shapiro - Moonlight Dance

Simian mobile disco - Cruel intentions (with Beth Ditto)

La Roux - As if by magic

Vega - Track 6 (I really can't find the name anywhere)

today is now - uno

so, I'm going to try and start a new segment on GH every week where I post a nice little playlist of songs that i think are deserving of your attention. We'll see how it goes. Maybe (hopefully) every miercoles. This week includes some of my current favés like Washed Out and the xx. It's still a little hazy and summery, mainly because it's still hot as shit here.

Also, I've come across some awesome mid-century advertisements. I want to plaster them all over my walls. Check em out. Sorry, not very clever today.

The xx - Hot like fire

Smith Westerns - Be my girl

Best Coast - Something in the way

Washed Out - Belong

Pictureplane - Cyclical Cyclical (Atlantis)
